The release
of Otherworldly Munchkin: Let's Speedrun the Dungeon with Only 1 HP will
not arrive in October as initially announced. The anime's production committee
confirmed that the series will be delayed indefinitely in order to "improve
quality", a decision that has taken fans of the isekai genre by
surprise who were waiting for its release this month.
The
delay of Otherworldly Munchkin
The
official statement indicates that, at the moment, there is no new confirmed
release date. The production assured that as soon as a definitive schedule is
determined, it will be published through the anime's website and its official
social networks. With this, uncertainty surrounds one of the most curious
isekai adaptations on this year's release grid.
Crunchyroll
had already confirmed its broadcast
Prior to
this announcement, Otherworldly Munchkin was scheduled to
premiere in October and be broadcast on Crunchyroll in various
regions of the world. Now, the streaming service is temporarily without the
simultaneous premiere of this adaptation, which has inevitably generated
reactions on social networks from followers who already had the dates marked on
their calendar.
A
history marked by difficulty
The anime
adapts the manga by Yū Shimizu and Makoto Aogiri,
which follows the adventure of a protagonist who must make his way in a
dangerous dungeon under a single rule: advance with just 1 life point. A
premise that mixes the spirit of video games with the most extreme elements of
the isekai genre, making it a different proposal that many expect to see in
motion.
For now,
the only thing clear is that Otherworldly Munchkin will not
debut in October. The big question is whether this delay will be brief or if it
will be extended long enough to move it to the 2025 calendar.
