Kodansha's YanMaga Web platform announced that renowned mangaka Ryuta Amazume will premiere a new project on September 11. The work will be titled Omae no Kao wo Tashikametai (I want to see your expression) and will mark the return of the author after the end of his previous series.

History with provocative overtones

The manga focuses on Madoka Misumi, a woman with a very active sex life, who one day meets Tōru One, an invisible man. Fascinated with the idea of experiencing "invisible sex," Madoka begins to live with him in a no-strings-attached relationship. However, what starts as a casual agreement ends up evolving into a romantic bond between the two.

Amazume's recent projects

The mangaka concluded his Jofū series in March, which was born from a one-shot published in 2021 in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine. The full serialization began in December 2021 and closed with a total of seven volumes, the last of which was published on May 29.

Nana to Kaoru's legacy

Amazume is known worldwide for Nana to Kaoru, launched in 2008 in Young Animal Arashi magazine and later moved to the main Young Animal magazine in 2009. The work was completed in 2016 and was licensed internationally by FAKKU and Denpa, which has been distributing the series in 3-in-1 compilation editions since 2022.

The success of Nana to Kaoru inspired an OVA, two live-action films, and several spin-offs, including Nana to Kaoru: Black Label, concluded in 2014, and Nana to Kaoru ~Kōkōsei no SM Gokko~, which ran from 2018 to 2021, showcasing the lives of the protagonists in their third year of high school.

Expectations for his new work

With a proposal that mixes eroticism and romance in an unconventional context, Ryuta Amazume's followers hope to discover how the author will surprise again with Omae no Kao wo Tashikametai in his debut this September.
