Kyoto Animation announced during the event KyoAni no Sekai-ten the release date of Hibike! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 1, the first part of the film project that will end the franchise. The film will be released in Japan on April 24, 2026 and it will be projected in 200 cinemas at the national level.
Along with the announcement, a new trailer with optional English subtitles and a new visual that advances the atmosphere of the film. This feature film marks the beginning of the final story arc, giving continuity to the events shown in Hibike! Euphonium 3, issued in 2024.
The closing of a musical decade
Kyoto Animation describes this production as the culmination of ten years of experience dedicated to portraying the youth and passion for music of the students Kitauji High School Concert Band. The film will be directed by Taichi Ogawa, with Tatsuya Ishihara as chief director. The script and composition of the series are in charge of Jukki Hanada, while Shouko Ikeda and Kazumi Ikeda they design characters. The music will be composed by Akito Matsuda under the production of Lantis and Heart Company, with the collaboration of Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

A story that marked an era
The franchise Sound! Euphonium it began with the 13-episode television series premiered in 2015. Subsequently, several compilation films and sequels were produced, including Liz and the Blue Bird (2018) and Sound! Euphonium The Movie - Our Promise: A Brand New Day (2019). The most recent project before the new film was Tokubetsuhen Hibike! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest, released in August 2023, which marked the return of the saga to theaters after a four-year hiatus.
