The
production team of the Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai anime, based
on Yuritaro's manga, announced that the series will premiere
in January 2026 through TV Tokyo and its
affiliates, in addition to AT-X and WOWOW channels.
The release also included a new promotional video, a visual and additional
details of the cast.
New cast
confirmed
Among the
additions to the cast are Yūki Kaji as Namu, Fukushi
Ochiai as Mobuo, Azusa Tadokoro as Akira-sensei
and Shiori Izawa as Chihiro-sensei. The lead roles will be
played by Azusa Tachibana in the role of Kaya-chan and Maaya
Uchida as Chie-sensei.

Equipment
The project
is directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (365 Days to the Wedding, Kiratto
Pri☆Chan) at East Fish Studio. Shigeru
Murakoshi (Zombie Land Saga, Ninja Kamui) oversees
the scripts, while Tarō Yamada and Hiroyuki Moriguchi are
in charge of character design. The music will be composed by Kohta
Yamamoto and Shun Narita, with Yukio Nagasaki as
sound director.
Details
of the original manga
The Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai manga began publication on Shinchosha's Kurage Bunch site in April 2022. The publisher released the seventh compiled volume on June 9.
