The official X account (formerly Twitter) of Takeshobo's Storia Dash platform announced that the manga Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete, written and illustrated by Akihiro Ononaka, will resume publication on October 17 with chapter 59 on the publisher's new Takecomi! site.
The return after a break for health
The series went on hiatus in March 2024 due to the author's health issues. Ononaka began the work in Manga Life Storia magazine in 2019, and after the closure of that publication in July of the same year, the series continued its serialization on the Storia Dash website. Takeshobo published volume 11 in January 2024.
Anime success and franchise expansion
The manga has an anime adaptation released in January 2024 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto channels. The series was presented in three different versions: the television edition, the "gushing" version available on streaming platforms, and the "ultra-gushing" version released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. Each differs in the level of audio and image censorship.
Second season on the way
During an event held in October 2024, it was officially confirmed that the Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete anime will have a second season, thus expanding the universe of the franchise.
