The All You Need Is Kill anime film reveals its release for January 2026

The official site of Warner Bros. Japan and STUDIO4°C he published a new trailer for the animated adaptation of the science fiction light novel All You Need Is Kill, written by Hiroshi Sakurazaka and illustrated by Yoshitoshi ABe. The video confirms that the theatrical release in Japan will be on January 9, 2026 in a total of ten rooms.



The trailer also features the title track titled “Tsuretette”, performed by the artist AKASAKI, along with a new promotional visual starring the two main characters in full combat.

 

Production team

 

The management is in charge of Kenichiro Akimoto, who previously worked as a CGI director at Children of the Sea and as unit director in Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko. The project is a co-production between STUDIO4°C and Warner Bros. Japan, which seeks to offer an interpretation more faithful to the original tone of the novel.

 

All You Need Is Kill it was originally published in 2004 and achieved international notoriety after inspiring the film Edge of Tomorrow (2014), starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The work combines elements of time travel, military action and existential dilemmas, following Keiji Kiriya, a soldier trapped in a time loop during an alien invasion.
