The Dark Gathering anime will have a second season

The anime production team Dark Gathering, based on the manga by Kenichi Kondou, announced that the series will have one second season. The official project site presented a visual teaser in which it is confirmed that the story will be transferred to Kyoto, maintaining the same cast and crew.

The new season will once again feature Hiroshi Ikehata (FLCL ProgressiveSpace Battleship Tiramisu) as director under the studio OLM. The main cast will also reprise their roles: Yuu Sasahara like Yayoi Houzuki, Nobunaga Shimazaki like Keitarou Gentouga, Kana Hanazawa like Eiko Houzuki and Rina Kawaguchi like Ai Kamiyo.

 

A story between the spiritual and the macabre

 

The plot follows Keitarou Gentouga, a young man with the ability to act as a spiritual medium. After a tragic incident in his adolescence, he becomes a recluse until he meets Yayoi Houzuki, a child prodigy with the ability to perceive spirits. Together they begin a dangerous journey to capture evil entities and face paranormal phenomena. Kondou's original manga is published in the magazine Jump SQ. of Shueisha since March 2019.
