The manga Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun goes on hiatus due to the author's health

Magazine G Fantasy of Square Enix he announced that the manga Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun (Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun), written and illustrated by Iro Aida, will go on pause starting next time November 18 due to the medical treatment that the author is receiving for an unspecified illness.


During this period, the magazine will publish previous chapters of the manga while the official date for its resumption is defined. G Fantasy he assured that he will announce the return of the series as soon as the author's state of health is confirmed.


The manga had already had a brief interruption in July of this year, resuming its publication a month later, in August. However, this new pause appears to be of longer duration.

About the manga


Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun (Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun) it began serialization in 2014 within the magazine G Fantasy of Square Enix. To date, the work has 24 compilation volumes released in Japan, and volume number 25 is scheduled to be released on October 27.


The story combines supernatural and school elements, following Nene Yashiro, a student who invokes the spirit Hanako in the girls' bathroom at their school, thus discovering the mysterious and chaotic world of the “Seven Wonders” of Kamome High School.


About the anime


The manga inspired an anime adaptation produced by Lerche, which was broadcast on january 2020 with a total of 12 episodes. His second season started in january 2024 and it is currently divided into two parts, with the second half released on July 6.


The anime is recognized for its distinctive visual style and its mix of humor and mystery, which have made it one of the most popular supernatural series of the last decade.
