The new anime of Ghost in the Shell, officially titled The Ghost in the Shell, confirmed its premiere for january 2026. The production will mark a new approach for the franchise, leaving CGI behind and returning to modeling Traditional 2D.
The project is in charge of the studio Science Saru, responsible for recent productions such as Dandadan and Sanda. Although the exact premiere date and number of episodes have not yet been revealed, the series is expected to debut during the first weeks of the month.
In this new version, the address will be in the hands of Moko-chan, who will make her directorial debut after having been assistant director at Dandadan. His career also includes participation in titles such as Heike Monogatari and Tatami Time Machine Blues, consolidating his expertise in Science Saru's distinctive visual style.
