The genre of villains and otome games continues to boom. The author's official account Touko Amekawa and the publisher TO Books they announced that the light novel with the extensive title Akutou Ikka no Manamusume, Tensei-saki mo Otome Game no Gokudou Reijou deshita (Reincarnated in a Mafia Dating Sim: A Yakuza Heiress Becomes the Top-Ranked Villain's Romantic Target!) has one anime adaptation currently in production.
The announcement came accompanied by the news that the franchise has surpassed the 350,000 copies in circulation. To commemorate the milestone, the illustrator of the novels LINEN, published a special illustration. The work is written by Touko Amekawa, known for being the author of the successful series 7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!, which had its own anime in 2024.
The plot follows the granddaughter of a modern yakuza boss who is reincarnated as Francesca Calvino, the heroine of a dating game set in a fantasy world dominated by mafias. Determined to avoid a tragic fate, Francesca plans to break off her engagement to the main villain, Leonardo Aldini. However, her plan fails when Leonardo, far from letting her go, becomes even more obsessed with her after seeing her ability to defend herself.
Formats of the work
The novel began on the site Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2022 and is physically published by TO Books. In addition, it has a manga adaptation made by Sora Gouto, which is serialized on the website Crown EX. The fifth volume of both the novel and the manga is scheduled to be released on December 1st.
