The longest
wait in recent anime history is over. Netflix broke the
internet on Saturday by officially announcing that the anime adaptation
of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 7--Steel Ball Run, Hirohiko
Araki's masterpiece, will make its exclusive global debut on the
platform on March 19, 2026.
The
premiere, called "1st STAGE", will not be just any
episode. The series will kick off with a special 47-minute episode,
immersing us fully in the epic horse race across North America in the late 19th
century. The story follows Johnny Joestar, a paraplegic former
jockey, and the mysterious Gyro Zeppeli, as they form an alliance
to compete for a millionaire prize in a race that hides a deadly conspiracy.
New
voices join the race
Along with
the announcement and a new promotional video, the voices of two key competitors
were confirmed. Masaaki Mizunaka will play the speedy Sandman,
while Kenichiro Matsuda will play the lucky Pocoloco.
