Hibino's battle is nearing its final climax. During the Jump Festa 2026 event
held on December 20, it was officially announced that the anime Kaiju
No. 8 will adapt its final arc, bringing Naoya
Matsumoto's successful story towards its conclusion on screen.
The
announcement came shortly after the second season ended its broadcast in
September 2025. Along with the confirmation, a new promotional video was
revealed showing members of the Defense Force battling evolved kaijus that push
them to their limits, Isao Shinomiya's uncertain fate after
being absorbed into Kaiju No. 9, and Kafka's unwavering determination.
New
Short: "Narumi's Ordinary Days"
In addition
to the main series, the production of an original short anime titled "Narumi's
Ordinary Days" was announced. This spin-off will celebrate Gen
Narumi's birthday and focus on her everyday life, following the style
of the special episode "Hoshina's Day Off" screened
in March 2025.

Matsumoto thanked fans and confirmed the status of his work: "The
manga has successfully reached its final chapter, but although the
serialization has ended, Kafka and the others continue to come to life through
my exchanges with the production teams of the anime and the game."
Matsumoto said that the franchise is far from over and plans to continue to
constantly contribute ideas.
