The anime phenomenon has broken a new barrier in Hollywood. The first film in the final trilogy, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, has been officially nominated for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards. Ufotable's film will compete in the prestigious Best Animated Feature category, cementing the global impact of Koyoharu Gotouge's franchise.
The list of nominees
The competition will be fierce. Infinity Castle will be measured against giants of Western animation and other international surprises. The full list of nominees is:
- Arc (Neon)
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle (Aniplex/Crunchyroll/Sony)
- Elio (Disney)
- Kpop Demon Hunters (Netflix)
- Little Amélie or the Character of Rain (Gkids)
- Zootopia 2 (Disney)
Do you have a real chance of winning?
Although the nomination is a triumph in itself, the road to the statuette is uphill. Analysts point out that Zootopia 2 and the acclaimed Arco start as favorites. And Demon Slayer faces a structural challenge: Unlike self-contained films like the recent Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, Infinity Castle feels like a fragment of a larger story, a collection of epic moments that set up the ending, which could detract points from a jury looking for complete cinematic narratives.
Date of the ceremony
The winners will be revealed at the ceremony which will be broadcast live on Sunday, January 11, 2026 via CBS and Paramount+.
