All great
adventures come to an end and it seems that the mystery of the legendary
detective will be no exception. The Nigozyu author surprised the community this
Friday during the release of volume number fourteen of The Detective Is
Already Dead light novel (Tantei wa Mo, Shindeiru.), by revealing
first-hand that he plans to conclude the story definitively in the next volume
of the franchise.
The news
fell like a bucket of cold water for the followers who have accompanied the
protagonists for years, although the move is logical considering the progress
of the plot on the printed pages. The Nigozyu writer gave the notice in the
author's notes included in the most recent compilation installment illustrated
by Umibozu, confirming that volume 15 will mark the end point for the main
narrative of Kimihiko and Siesta.

Shindeiru. Code:RED, escrito por Hoko Hinachi y Minori Chigusa bajo la
supervisión directa del propio autor original. De igual forma, la obra contó
con una adaptación al manga ilustrada por Mugiko que comenzó en mayo de 2020 y
cerró su serialización en octubre de 2023 con un total de seis tomos
recopilatorios.
The
Detective Is Already Dead is a popular series of mystery, romantic comedy, and action light
novels written by nigozyu and illustrated by Umibozu. The work
began its official publication under the MF Bunko J imprint of the Kadokawa
publishing house in November 2019, after having won the prestigious first place
in the fifteenth contest of new talents of the same publisher that same year.
The plot follows Kimihiko Kimizuka, a young man who was born with a magnet to attract all kinds of trouble and suspicious incidents. His life takes a radical turn when he becomes the assistant of Siesta, a brilliant detective who secretly fights against an organization of modified beings throughout the world. Tragedy strikes the plot when Siesta loses her life, leaving Kimihiko trying to resume an ordinary routine that is interrupted when ghosts from the past knock on his door again. The animated adaptation produced by the ENGI studio debuted in July 2021 with a twelve-episode first season, while the second season began airing on October 7.
