Christmas
has brought a bloody gift for Chainsaw Man fans. During the
Jump Festa 2026, it was officially confirmed that the franchise will adapt
the brutal International Assassins Arc. This new stage will serve
as a direct sequel to the Reze Arc movie, upping the ante with
villains who will make the previous demons seem like child's play.
The
announcement was accompanied by a visual teaser where we see Makima in
a movie theater, which generated confusion about the format. However, since
this arc covers chapters 53-70 of the manga, it is very likely
that it is a television series (possibly the first part of a Season 2 divided
into "cours", similar to what Jujutsu Kaisen did
with the Shibuya Arc). Adapting this content into a single film
would be rushed, and MAPPA needs space to develop the action.

Santa Claus and Global Chaos
The plot
will revolve around Denji being the target of multiple global
factions after his importance is revealed. Fan-favorite characters such as the
relentless Chinese hunter Quanxi and the terrifying
"Santa Claus" from Germany will debut here. The teaser showed Denji bound
with guts, promising that censorship won't be an issue.
The
dream team returns
Although
the complete list of staff has not been made official, everything points to the
return of Tatsuya Yoshihara in the direction and Kazutaka
Sugiyama in the character design. In addition, acclaimed
composer Kensuke Ushio will return for the soundtrack, having
managed to get the music from Reze's film into the list of the
best albums of 2025 on Apple Music.
