The pace
doesn't stop! Dancefloor fans have plenty of reason to celebrate. Through the
official X account (formerly Twitter) of the franchise and through the
promotional headband of volume 15 of the manga, it was officially confirmed
this Tuesday, December 23, that Coffee's work, Wandance,
will have a live-action film adaptation.
The
announcement was greeted with enthusiasm by the editorial team, who shared an
emotional message: "Revealed today in the 15th volume ribbon, now on sale.
A live-action film adaptation has been confirmed. This is unbelievable. After
the anime, he will now also have a movie. All this is thanks to everyone's
support."
The news
comes at a crucial time, as the TV anime, which premiered in October 2025, is
set to air its final episode tomorrow. The animated adaptation raised the bar
by having world-famous choreographer RIEHATA (known for her
work with BTS) as a dance producer, raising high expectations for
how that energy will translate to the live-action film.
About
Wandance
Serialized
in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine since
2019, the story follows Kaboku Kotani, a high school student who
struggles to express his feelings due to his stutter. His life takes a turn
when he is captivated by Hikari Wanda, a partner who dances freely
without caring about the gaze of others. Inspired by it, Kaboku delves into the
world of freestyle dance as a form of communication without words.
With the
manga published in ten languages and an anime that has been praised for its
authenticity, the jump to the big screen seems like the natural step.
