A romantic and chaotic way to start the year. The official website of There's No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover! Unless... ~Next Shine~ (Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Naijan, Muri Muri! Muri Janakatta!?) confirmed Thursday that the anime's sequel will arrive on Japanese television on January 1. The broadcast will be a marathon special event that will cover five episodes (from 13 to 17) consecutively.
The special will air on Tokyo MX and BS11 from 1:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. (JST) on New Year's Day. It will then air on AT-X on January 10. It should be noted that this content is a restructured television version of the limited theatrical screening that took place in Japan between November and December.
Synopsis of the ~Next Shine~ Arc
The story continues directly after episode 12 of the previous series. Renako Amaori, who left behind his shady past to debut in high school, is at an impossible love crossroads: he has received confessions from the group's two stars, "prince" Mai Oduka and "angel" Ajisai Sena.
Unable to handle both conditions, Renako agrees to help his friend Kaho at a cosplay event, using it as an excuse to delay his response. However, witnessing Kaho's passion, something awakens inside Renako, leading her to question what it is that she really desires and if that "no way" is as absolute as she thought.
