Another
webtoon giant makes the leap to the screen. Kadokawa announced
Friday that the Tomb Raider King anime (known in Japan
as Tokutsuo) will begin airing next July on Fuji
TV and Kansai TV. An interesting detail is that it is an animated production in
Korea that will have a Japanese dubbing for its television broadcast.

The series
is directed by Seung Wook Woo at STUDIO EEK. The
opening theme, titled "Show Down," will be performed
by Korean girl group QWER, marking their first collaboration
with an anime and including Japanese lyrics.

the story
Mysterious
tombs appeared one day all over the world, each containing relics that grant
supernatural abilities. Jooheon Suh is an explorer and tomb
raider who, after being betrayed by his employer and about to die, suddenly
travels 15 years into the past, before the relics appeared. Driven by revenge,
he will use his knowledge of the future to become the true King of the Raiders.
