Japan's
most dangerous and adorable café is set to open a branch on the big screen.
According to a report published on January 13, 2026 by the
specialized media namiten.jp, the acclaimed original franchise
Lycoris Recoil (Licorico) is preparing its leap to the cinema.
The report,
which cites information linked to the Japanese stock exchange (codes related to
the Sony/Aniplex group), assures that the production committee
led by Aniplex has made the firm decision that the next anime
project of the saga will be released as a theatrical film.
Although
the official announcement with specific details (date, staff and synopsis) is
expected sometime in 2026, the report uses terms such as "has
been consolidated" to describe the distribution format. The production
will remain in the hands of A-1 Pictures, the same studio that
captivated us in 2022 with its perfect mix of tactical action and "slice
of life".
What
about Season 2?
It is
important to clarify that this film project is different from the animated
shorts ("Friends are thieves of time") that we saw in streaming
between April and May 2025. Everything points to this film being
the direct sequel or a new great mission that many expected to see in a second
season format.
