Golden Kamuy climax in sight: The Runaway Train arc is coming in winter

Prepare your stomachs for one last survival feast in Hokkaido, because the hunt for Ainu gold is about to go off the rails entirely. The production committee behind the animated adaptation of Golden Kamuy (Goruden Kamuy) released a brutal update on Monday: the final season will continue its course to culminate with the highly anticipated Runaway Train arc, which is scheduled to premiere this coming winter. And to warm up, the official account left us a new promotional image that breathes pure tension.

Right now, the final stretch of the anime is being broadcast normally since it started on January 5, but all readers of the manga knew that the definitive closure needed special treatment to shine. The excellent news is that the Brains Base studio is still firmly at the helm of animation. Chief director Shizutaka Sugahara returns to ensure that the chaos and blood do not lose quality in this last stretch, strongly supported by Noboru Takagi, who continues to supervise the scripts so that the black humor and historical brutality remain intact.

In terms of visuals, Takumi Yamakawa is still in charge of character design, while the immense and deadly snowy landscapes so characteristic of the series will continue under the art direction of Yukihiro Shibutani and Mao Miyake. All this set sonically by the production company Magic Capsule.

About the closure of Golden Kamuy

In case you lost track of this tremendous gem created by mangaka Satoru Noda, the story has brought us on a roller coaster of emotions since the manga began publication in 2014, managing to finish its publication masterfully in April 2022. What started as a simple search for stolen treasure with a map tattooed on convicts, escalated to become one of the most twisted and fun pitched battles in anime.

This climax of the Fugitive Train is literally the boiling point of the entire work. This is where all the military factions, betrayals, snipers, and bizarre alliances we've seen build over the seasons will collide head-on aboard a speeding train. With Crunchyroll taking care of the streaming in our region, we just have to have a little patience and wait for the exact date to fasten our seatbelts in the winter season.
