The
Peek-a-Boo Dive Club packs your bags for your first international trip. It has
been officially announced that the third season of the anime adaptation of the
comedy Grand Blue (Grand Blue Dreaming) will begin
airing on Japanese television during the month of July.
The update
included the release of a new promotional image for the series. The production
committee confirmed that the new episodes will change location, developing
their plot in the Republic of Palau, which will mark the first time that the
animated story takes place outside Japanese territory.
The
animated adaptation began its journey on television with a first season of 12
episodes produced by the Zero-G studio in the summer of 2018,
followed by a second installment released in the summer of 2025 and distributed
internationally through Crunchyroll.
About
the work
The main
story follows Iori Kitahara, who moves to the coastal city of Izu to start his
university life. Settling into his uncle's dive shop, "Grand Blue,"
his plans for a normal student life are disrupted when he's dragged into
joining the quirky local dive club, a group focused more on wild partying and
alcohol consumption than underwater exploration.
The
original work, written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake
Yoshioka, began serialization in the pages of good! Afternoon from Kodansha in
April 2014. The literary franchise enjoys immense popularity in Japan,
surpassing 10 million print copies in circulation and preparing the release of
its twenty-sixth compilation volume for the month of April.
