A classic
of the female demographic will come to life on the small screen. It has been
officially announced that the shojo manga Kanata Kara (From
Far Away) will have its first anime adaptation, which is scheduled to
premiere on Japanese television this year.
The
revelation of this project comes as part of the celebrations for the
thirty-fifth anniversary of the work. The update included the release of a first
promotional trailer for the series, as well as a special commemorative
illustration drawn by the creator of the franchise herself.

a preliminary announcement, the production committee is keeping the animation
studio in charge and the voice cast that will give life to the protagonists in
reserve. However, the first key member of the technical team that will lead the
adaptation was confirmed.

The plot
follows Noriko, a high school student who one day, on her way home,
is suddenly transported to a fantasy world. Her situation becomes even more
complex after being rescued by Izark, a brave young man who harbors
the darkest evil entity imaginable. According to an ancient prophecy, Noriko
possesses the power to unleash said evil. Inevitably bound together by fate,
this peculiar alliance must navigate and survive in a hostile and unfamiliar
environment.

Hikawa serialized this story in the pages of Hakusensha's LaLa magazine
between 1991 and 2002. The work concluded its publication with a total of
fourteen compilation volumes, consolidating itself over the decades as one of
the pillars of fantasy romance and precursor of the modern isekai genre.
