Every great story of heartbreak, mystery, and teenage dilemmas has to come to an end, and Sakuta Azusagawa's path is about to bring down the final curtain. Seishun Buta Yarou's franchise (popularly known as Rascal Does Not Dream) revealed the second promotional trailer for its long-awaited final film, confirming that the film will hit theaters in Japan on October 16, 2026.

The new teaser offers a glimpse into the climactic moments that the protagonists will face, directly adapting the fifteenth and final volume of the light novels written by Hajime Kamoshida. In addition to presenting a promotional image focused on the character of Miori Mito, the trailer allows us to listen to a fragment of the main theme song entitled "Suihei-sen wa Boku no Furukizu finale", performed by Toko Kirishima, who will also contribute the song "Turn the World Upside Down" to accompany the feature film. Prior to its screening in commercial theaters, the production will host an exclusive preview with the voice cast on October 4

The cinematic installment will reunite the talented cast of seiyuus that has accompanied the franchise since its inception. In the leading roles we once again have Kaito Ishikawa giving life to Sakuta Azusagawa and Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima, accompanied by Sora Amamiya (Uzuki Hirokawa), Aya Yamane (Ikumi Akagi), Konomi Kohara (Sara Himeji), Manaka Iwami (Miori Mito) and Reina Ueda (Nene Iwamizawa). Likewise, fundamental voices of the saga return, such as Nao Toyama as Tomoe Koga, Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba, Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama, Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa and Inori Minase as Shoko Makinohara.

The animation work will continue under the signature of the CloverWorks studio, again under the direction of Soichi Masui. The supervision and writing of the scripts is still in charge of Masahiro Yokotani, while Satomi Tamura performs the character designs. For its part, the soundtrack will once again be the work of the group Fox Capture Plan, guaranteeing that melancholic and enveloping atmosphere that characterizes the franchise.

Created by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi, Seishun Buta Yarou's light novel saga began publication in 2014 and has surpassed three million copies in circulation. The play conquered the community in October 2018 with the animated television adaptation Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, followed by the acclaimed film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl in 2019 and the feature films released in 2023. After the broadcast of the series that adapted the university arc in July 2025, this new film takes up the events directly to give definitive closure to the complexities of the "puberty syndrome".
