Setbacks in
work schedules have reached one of the most anticipated returns. Through a
statement on its official media, it was announced that the second season of the
anime adaptation of The Detective Is Already Dead (Tantei
wa Mou, Shindeiru) has delayed its premiere until October 2026.
Originally,
the Kadokawa company had scheduled the start of broadcasts for
the summer season, specifically in July 2026. However, the committee in charge
of the project explained that the decision to postpone the launch of the series
is strictly due to various production problems that prevent meeting the
stipulated date.

facilities. The project features the return of Manabu Kurihara in
the director's chair. The scripts and composition of the series continue under
the supervision of Deko Akao, while Yosuke Ito resumes
his work in charge of character design.
About
the franchise
The first
season of the animated adaptation aired in July 2021 with a total of 12

second season was originally announced during the month of July 2022,
maintaining a long wait of four years for its realization.
The original light novel, written by Nigoju and illustrated by Umibozu, began publication under Kadokawa's MF Bunko J imprint in November 2019, the same year in which it won the publisher's fifteenth prize for debut novels. The literary universe of the franchise recently expanded with the release of a spin-off novel starring Charlotte, published in May 2024.
