The death-to-death clashes inside the barriers are about to take a brief pause on television. It has been officially announced that the twelfth and final episode of the first part of the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen will have an extended duration, scheduled to air in Japan on March 26.

Unlike regular broadcasts that range from 23 to 24 minutes, this episode, which marks the 59th episode in the franchise's overall tally, will span an uninterrupted block of 27 minutes on screen. The episode is titled "Sendai Colony" and will mark the temporary closure of the adaptation of the intense arc of the Culling Game.

The current season began its broadcast on January 8, debuting with a one-hour special. The musical section of this first half has been accompanied by the opening theme performed by the band King Gnu, while the closing sequence has the interpretation of the artist jo0ji.

The technical core responsible for adapting this stage of the story keeps key talents from previous installments:

About the work

The plot of this third season focuses on the Culling Game, a lethal battle royale-style survival tournament organized by Kenjaku. This event forces reincarnated sorcerers from the past and newly awakened humans with cursed techniques to murder each other within ten immense colonies spread throughout Japan. Participants must accumulate points by killing other players to add new rules to the game, facing the removal of their own techniques if they refuse to participate.

The original work, written and illustrated by mangaka Gege Akutami, was serialized in the pages of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine for more than six years. After establishing itself as one of the modern pillars of the shonen demographic, the manga reached its final conclusion in September 2024.
