About
the work
The plot of
this third season focuses on the Culling Game, a lethal battle
royale-style survival tournament organized by Kenjaku. This event
forces reincarnated sorcerers from the past and newly awakened humans with
cursed techniques to murder each other within ten immense colonies spread
throughout Japan. Participants must accumulate points by killing other players
to add new rules to the game, facing the removal of their own techniques if
they refuse to participate.
The
original work, written and illustrated by mangaka Gege Akutami, was
serialized in the pages of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine
for more than six years. After establishing itself as one of the modern pillars
of the shonen demographic, the manga reached its final
conclusion in September 2024.
