If you thought that the end of the season meanta long break for the famous card game, the reality is different. This Saturday, just before airing its television climax, Bushiroad released two massive announcements about the future of the Cardfight!! Vanguard. First, they confirmed the production of an anime film titled Divinez The Fated Star Battle Arc, which will hit Japanese theaters on October 2. Second, they revealed that the saga will celebrate its 15th anniversary in style with a totally new television series disconnected from the current story, scheduled to premiere in 2027.

The creative team behind the denouement in cinema

To ensure that the closing of the current stage has the visual quality that the big screen demands, the film production falls entirely into the hands of the Kinema Citrus studio. The most striking aspect is that the original character designs are still the work of the acclaimed mangaka group CLAMP. The official statement, which came accompanied by a new promotional image, did not specify new additions to the voice cast, so it is assumed that the main actors will return to the booth to record the last duels of their characters.

An era of combat that closes its cycle on the small screen

The timing of the announcement was strategically calculated. Today, Saturday, April 11, the television broadcast of Phantom Star Battle Arc officially concluded with its twelfth and final episode. This installment marked the tenth consecutive season within the gigantic D Series. This narrative block started strongly in 2021 with overDress, evolved into will+Dress and finally led to the multiple seasons of the Divinez saga. Although Bushiroad initially had a budget of about nine seasons, the reception of the public motivated them to extend the story until crowning it with this next theatrical release.

What is the fierce fight of the Divinez saga about?

The entire conflict that we will see culminate in the film revolves around high school student Akina Myodo and a select group of fighters. They are the bearers of special cards known as the Six Wishes, rare artifacts capable of altering fate itself. This premise unleashes the Fated Clash, an intense survival tournament where the last player standing has the right to be granted any wish. As the episodes went by, the series escalated from being a simple strategic competition to involving paranormal phenomena and superhuman abilities, setting the perfect stage for the final battle for fate.
