After four
years of waiting in the purgatory of anime without a sequel, the knight in
golden armor is finally back in action. This Saturday, the official
website of Skeleton Knight in Another World (Gaikotsu Kishi-sama,
Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu) confirmed that its long-awaited second
season will premiere on Japanese television this coming July. The
announcement brought with it a whole package of reveals: a new official
trailer, an unreleased promotional image, and a look at the new characters
that will cross Arc's path.
The
voices of new allies and enemies
A new
adventure in a fantasy world requires a cast to match its intricate features.
The production has added high-caliber voice actors to its ranks. In addition,
the trailer allowed us to listen to a preview of "Kiseki wa Okinai",
the new closing theme performed by the idol group DIALOGUE+. Here are the new
seiyuus confirmed to join the plot:
- Toshihiko

A
renewed production team at Aura Studio
This sequel
brings some interesting changes behind the scenes. The project is now under the
direction of Katsumi Ono within the Aura Studio facility.
The technical team is complemented by veterans Toshizou Nemoto in charge of
composition and scripts, and Tooru Imanishi perfecting the character designs to
suit the intense action sequences that characterize this original bestselling
light novel by author Ennki Hakari.
What
does the future hold for the undead knight?
For those
who need to refresh their memory since the debut season in spring 2022
(available with dubbing and subtitles on Crunchyroll), the work
immerses us in the classic isekai trope but with a peculiar
twist. Our protagonist wakes up in the world of his favorite MMO embodying his
own avatar. The small detail is that his character is a walking skeleton
covered from head to toe in powerful magical armor.
Determined
to go unnoticed to avoid being hunted down and eliminated like a monster, his
noble instincts and overwhelming power constantly push him to intervene to save
the innocent. In this second season, we will see Arc delve much deeper into the
dense political intrigue of this world, interacting with new races and
unraveling dark conspiracies on a large scale, backed by the crushing success
of the franchise in the real world, which already exceeds 3.2 million copies in
circulation.
