The Neverness
to Everness scandal has just reached its peak. After the community
discovered warped posters and sequences suspiciously resembling Makoto
Shinkai's films, the pressure became unbearable. Everything exploded
definitively when the famous VTuber Ironmouse publicly
abandoned its million-dollar sponsorship contract after confirming that the
agency had lied to it about the use of these technologies. With no escape from
the massive funa on social networks, the creators finally had
to show their faces.
A
half-confession
Through a
lengthy official statement, the development team tried to calm the waters. They
appreciated the harsh feedback from players and ended up confessing what
everyone already knew: they did use artificial intelligence in
the creation of the open-world title. However, they tried to minimize the
impact of the hit by ensuring that these generative tools were only applied to
a small percentage of the funds and minor environmental details. They took
pains to make it very clear that the story, the vast main world, and the
character design are one hundred percent the product of the creativity of their
human artists.

Thank you for the feedback. It matters to us.
Neverness to Everness is built on human creativity. The characters, stories, and world you experience are the work of artists, writers, and designers. AI-assisted tools were used only on a small number of background…
Cleaning
up the evidence of the crime
To try to
regain the lost trust, the studio announced that they are already working hard
to redesign from scratch all the graphics that the community
pointed out as defective. This includes the infamous billboards and
environmental animations that sparked the initial controversy. It is a clear
attempt to clean up its image at a time when the video game industry is
under a tremendous magnifying glass regarding artistic ethics and the
replacement of human talent.
Knowing
that the studio tried to hide this information until they were caught
red-handed and lost important contracts.
