If the summer season seemed quiet to you, be prepared for a healthy dose of supernatural comedy and quite good methods. "questionable". The official website of the animated adaptation of KAMUI: He's Behind You (or Ushiro no Shomen Kamui-san) has just released a new promotional video confirming that this peculiar anime will land on our screens in July. As if that were not enough, the trailer gives us a good preview of "SAY-BYE!!", the electrifying ending played by the unmistakable KOTOKO.

A voice cast for the craziest exorcisms

To bring a psychic to life with such strange methods and the girls around him, the production committee put together a rather heavy team of seiyuus. The confirmed lineup for this season includes:

  • Tomokazu Sugita as Kamui
The legendary and ever-trouser Gintoki Sakata in Gintama and Kyon in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
  • Riko Aono as Shizuka Mimitsuka
An emerging talent that promises to steal our hearts like the student capable of seeing ghosts.
  • M.A.O as Oichi
Our dear Pecorine at Princess Connect! Re:Dive and Shion on That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
  • Yuka Aisaka as Kyoko
Known in otaku culture for bringing Narberal Gamma to life in Overlord.
  • Shiori Izawa as Inagawa
Nanachi's unforgettable and tender voice in Made in Abyss.

The direction of this madness is in the hands of Takumi Tsukumo (Divergence Eve veteran) under the Zero-G and ZG-R studios. And watch out here, because the production is in charge of the Deregula label of WWWave Corporation. For those who know how the iguana chews in the industry, you can imagine that the series will have its fair share of fan service, confirmed by the fact that they will have an exclusive sound director for the "full version" without censorship (Deregula version), which perfectly explains what they mean by "unusual" exorcisms.

Synopsis of KAMUI: He's Behind You

Shizuka is a seemingly normal high school student, but with the troubled gift of being able to see ghosts and spirits in her day-to-day life. To try to deal with this situation, he ends up working as an assistant to the famous psychic Kamui. However, he soon discovers that this self-proclaimed exorcist does not use the typical sacred seals or boring rituals to scare away supernatural entities; instead, it employs unusually physical, ridiculous, and rather risqué purification methods. Thus begins a hilarious and daring daily routine dealing with paranormal phenomena in the most bizarre ways possible.
