If you are one of those who cried macho tears
with the immense tenderness of Sweetness & Lightning, get ready
because its author has just dropped another sugar bomb on us. Through the opening
of a new official website, the production committee confirmed
that the original manga Yurayura Q, the most recent story of the
talented Gido Amagakure, will make the long-awaited leap to the
small screen with its own animated adaptation to brighten our
existence.
The narrative of this peculiar romantic
comedy introduces us to Kyuko, a high school student who deals with a
rather unusual biological problem: she is half human and half fox spirit. To
make her little identity crisis worse, the girl has eight older siblings who
are ridiculously beautiful, talented, and perfect at absolutely everything they
do. Feeling like the most ordinary person in the world and struggling daily to
try and control his clumsy fox-like seduction powers, his only real emotional
refuge is his childhood friend, Haru-chan, who doesn't miss the slightest
opportunity to remind him how adorable he is.
Although the announcement of this production
has the community celebrating in style, the news comes with a somewhat
bittersweet taste for regular readers of the franchise. After
having begun its serialization in the pages of The Hana to Yume Fantasy magazine
in October 2019, the Hakusensha publishing house confirmed
that the work will publish its final chapter this coming July 27. However,
knowing Amagakure's impeccable track record of adapting his jewels to
television (as we saw recently with A Galaxy Next Door), this
animated project will serve as the definitive tribute to say goodbye to these
characters.
