The mobile video game industry continues
to expand its horizons beyond our consoles, and this time the developers of
Kuro Games decided to throw the house out of the window. Through a spectacular
concept trailer, the company officially announced the production of Wuthering
Waves: Elysium, a brand new animated adaptation based on
its colossal open-world action RPG. To show that they are very
serious about this ambitious project, the team revealed that the series will
come to life through Kuro Onroad, its newly opened in-house animation division,
ensuring full creative control over the work.
For those who have lived under a rock and
haven't touched this franchise since its sweeping global
launch in 2024, the original narrative puts us in the shoes of the Rover, an
amnesiac and lethal traveler who awakens from a long lethargy in the hostile
post-apocalyptic world of Solaris-3. Accompanied by formidable allies known as
Resonators, his main goal is to recover his lost memories while fighting the
grotesque and dangerous creatures baptized as Tacet Discords. Thanks to the
tremendous fluidity of its combat system and the spectacular visual in-game
cinematics, the community had been demanding a series that
managed to capture that same adrenaline on television for months.
A promising future, but full of secrets
Although the hype is through
the roof, studio executives preferred to keep several cards up their sleeves.
So far, fundamental details such as the number of episodes, the exact narrative
arc they will cover or an approximate premiere window have not been revealed,
only confirming that the production is already in full swing. This announcement
fits like a glove in a 2026 that has been plagued by massive content updates
for the original title, marking a firm step towards the consolidation of the
brand internationally.
Considering that gacha game adaptations are
usually a real Russian roulette in terms of rhythm and character development
