Raising a wild girl who grew up surrounded by supernatural creatures was definitely not in the good priest's manual. The production team behind the animated adaptation of the popular Chinese manhua Shang Shan, created by Jiang Jia Meizi, delighted the community by revealing its first promotional trailer on video and officially confirming that the series, titled as Shozen for its Japanese broadcast, will premiere next April 2027. In addition, to celebrate the announcement, the first twenty chapters of the work translated into Japanese were officially released

The story invites us to follow in the peculiar footsteps of Dozen, a wandering Taoist priest who, during one of his journeys, crosses paths with a mysterious girl who was raised by beasts and entities from another world. Far from moving away, the monk decides to baptize her with the name Shozen and welcomes her under his tutelage as his unusual disciple. From that moment on, the two embark on a long journey together where the most difficult lessons will not be about magic or combat techniques, but about teaching the little girl what human feelings are and the true meaning of love and empathy.

The talent behind this adventure
