The national volleyball tournament is about to reach its peak on the big screen. The animated franchise Haikyu!! released a new promotional image for the long-awaited movie Haikyu!! VS Chiisana Kyojin (Haikyu!! VS The Little Giant), accompanied by the release of a trailer for the special episode Haikyu!! Bakemonotachi no Iku Tokoro (Haikyu!! The Place Where Monsters Go), both projects scheduled to premiere in 2027.

After Karasuno High School's epic victory over Nekoma in the "Battle of the Dump," the story moves straight to the quarterfinals of the National Spring Tournament. In this instance, Shoyo Hinata and his teammates will have to measure themselves against the fearsome team of Kamomedai High School and its star Korai Hoshiumi, a player who holds the coveted nickname of "The Little Giant". The new promotional visual places both finishers face to face on the court of the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, staring at each other with an intensity that promises a legendary duel in the air to prove who is the true heir of the legendary player.

Meanwhile, the special episode will focus its attention on another electrifying quarterfinal match: the matchup between Fukurodani Academy and Mujinazaka High School. The newly released footage shows the collision between two national-level aces, Kotaro Bokuto and Hachi Kiryu, highlighting powerful finishes and the tactical strategy of their respective setters, Keiji Akaashi and Mitsuru Usuri. Both projects will once again be directed and scripted by Susumu Mitsunaka under the production of acclaimed studio Production I.G, maintaining the standard that made Haruichi Furudate's original manga one of the most influential sports works in the anime industry.

With Karasuno and Fukurodani set to play the most decisive matches of the tournament in 2027
