Who hasn't felt that uncontrollable need to
devour an entire banquet after a heavy day at the office? The production
company TOHO animation surprised the community with
a rather creative revelation: after broadcasting a video loop cooking for an
uninterrupted hour, they officially announced that the successful manga I
Love Dokagui! Mochizuki-san (Dokagui Daisuki! Mochizuki-san)
will have its own animated adaptation. To celebrate this peculiar
culinary milestone, its creator Kamome Maruyono shared a
special commemorative illustration on his networks.
The story introduces us to Mikoto Mochizuki, a
twenty-one-year-old office worker in the sales department who, in the eyes of
her colleagues, maintains an impeccable façade of a sweet, calm and highly
educated woman. However, in the privacy of her solitude, Mikoto hides a
monstrous appetite. Their greatest happiness in life consists of getting stuck
with colossal portions of heavy, rich, greasy food until their blood sugar
levels skyrocket. This crazy comedy follows her day-to-day life and the
everyday situations that push her to seek that feeling of bodily ecstasy that
such wild eating produces in her.
Passione takes control of the kitchen
The one in charge of bringing these exuberant
gluttony sessions to life will be the Passione studio, who
will surely know how to perfectly illustrate the protagonist's expressions of
satisfaction. Although Maruyono's work only began to be published in May 2024
through the Hakusensha publishing house, it quickly became a gem highly
applauded by readers. As proof of this, the manga managed to be nominated in
the eighteenth edition of the Manga Taisho awards, sneaked into the coveted top
20 for male readers of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guide and
shone at the Next Manga Awards. With a fourth compilation volume on the way for
September 29, fans are waiting for the committee to reveal the release date and
voice cast.
