Tenki no Ko's Blu-Ray is only a month away and a bit far from coming out in Japan. To celebrate the imminent release, Toho Animation uploaded a 6-minute preview of the documentary series that will be included in the limited Blu-ray edition of the film that shows us the creation of the character Natsumi.
Tenki no Ko opened in Japanese theaters on July 18, 2019, and the DVD / Blu-ray will be released in Japan on May 27. The film includes English and Chinese subtitles in the 4K UHD Blu-ray Collector's Edition with a cover showing an illustration by director Makoto Shinkai, animation director Atsushi Tamura, with background by artistic director Susumu Watanabe.
The film also received its own novel adaptation, written by Shinkai, which is available digitally and in print. Additionally, a manga adaptation of the film went on sale on July 25.
Synopsis of Tenki no Ko:
The high school student Hodaka decides to leave his home on an isolated island, to go live in Tokyo, but due to fate he loses all his money. He lives the rest of his days in isolation, until finally one day he finds work as a writer for a magazine. After starting his job, the weather has been rainy day after day, but one day in a corner of the busy city, he meets a young woman named Hina.
Due to certain circumstances, Hina and her younger brother live together with certain problems, but with a happy and solid life. In addition to that, she has a certain power: that of stopping the rain and clearing the skies.
