Animal Crossing: New Horizons game will have a manga

In the June issue of Shogakukan publisher Coro Coro Comics magazine revealed that the game Animal Crossing: New Horizons will inspire a manga adaptation.


This manga will be written and illustrated by Kokonasu Runpa and will be published from the next edition of the magazine, in June. One-shot by the same author was also published in the most recent edition.

The game also inspired a manga written and illustrated by Minori Katou and titled Atsumare Doubutsu no Mori: Nonbiri Shima Dayori, which was released in Ciao magazine by Shogakukan publisher in December 2019.

About Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The game is the latest installment in the Animal Crossing franchise and the first to be released for the Nintendo Switch console. Although it was originally scheduled to be released in 2019, it was delayed until March 2020. In its first three days, the game sold 1.88 million copies in Japan. As of April 26, the delivery had already sold more than 3.89 million copies in Japan alone.

The previous game in the franchise, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, was released for the Nintendo 3DS system in Japan in 2012 and in North America in 2013. Nintendo then launched the Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival virtual board game for the Nintendo Wii U console and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer for the Nintendo 3DS system.
