Aikatsu! postpones the presentation of his new project

On the official Twitter account for the idol franchise Aikatsu !, it was announced that the presentation event of the new animation project has been postponed.

2020年6月に予定していた「アイカツ！シリーズ新プロジェクト」の発表につきまして、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大の影響により、安全に皆様に情報をお届けするため、発表を延期させていただくこととなりました。発表日時、発表方法などの詳細情報については後日公開致します。#aikatsu

The event was scheduled to take place in June this year, and the project is slated to premiere in the fall on TV Tokyo and affiliates, although the latter is subject to change.


The franchise debuted with an arcade card game released in October 2012. The game inspired an anime adaptation released between 2012 and 2016, as well as three animated films. The second installment of the franchise, Aikatsu Stars !, inspired an anime adaptation in April 2016 as well as an animated movie in August of the same year.

The third installment titled Aikatsu Friends! premiered in April 2018 simultaneously with another arcade card game. A second season titled Aikatsu Friends! ~ Kagayaki no Jewel ~ premiered in April 2018 and takes place two years after the second season. Finally, the anime Aikatsu on Parade! It premiered on October 5 and featured several characters from the franchise.
