Crunchyroll announced that it has added to its platform the film Given: To the Sea (original title: Eiga Given: Umi e), the second part of the film project that gives continuity to the story of the popular manga Given by Natsuki Kizu. The film is available for streaming in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

An emotional journey that continues at sea

The film Given: To the Sea was released in theaters in Japan on September 20, 2024, and serves as the second part of the sequel that delves into the relationships between the main characters. The first part, Given: Hiiragi Mix, arrived on Crunchyroll on December 20, 2024, following its debut in Japan in January of the same year.

The band Centimillimental returned to the main theme with the song "Super Ultra I Love You", maintaining the melancholic and emotional tone that characterizes the franchise.

Given: A Story That Marked a Milestone

The Given anime originally premiered in July 2019 on Fuji TV's Noitamina block, becoming the first anime based on a boys-love manga to air in that television segment. Crunchyroll streamed the series simultaneously and since August 2022 it has also offered English dubbing.

The plot revolves around Ritsuka Uenoyama, who has lost interest in music until she meets Mafuyu Sato. Hearing her voice for the first time, Ritsuka rediscovers her passion, starting a story where feelings and music are deeply intertwined.

A franchise that continues to grow

Given's manga began publication in 2014 in Shinshokan's Cheri+ magazine and concluded in March 2023 with a total of nine volumes. From January 2024, a new bonus story is published that continues to expand the universe of the series. In the West, the manga is published under Viz Media's SuBLime imprint.

In addition, the franchise has featured an OVA titled Given: Uragawa no Sonzai, focusing on Mafuyu and Ritsuka's side events during the first film. This special episode came to Crunchyroll in July 2022. A live-action series was also released on FOD (Fuji TV On Demand) in July 2021, also available on Crunchyroll.
