warmth. Lovers of mature romantic comedies have plenty of reason to celebrate,
as the official website for the animated adaptation of Skip
and Loafer (Skip to Loafer) released a first promotional video
officially confirming that its second season will premiere on Japanese
television in April 2027.
For the
peace of mind of fans, the prestigious studio P.A. Works will
once again be in charge of the animation of this beloved jewel of
the slice of life genre. The general direction and supervision of the scripts
will once again be in charge of Kotomi Deai, who will now share the
leadership of the story with Yoko Yonaiyama. Similarly, Manami Umeshita returns
as character designer and lead animation director, collaborating side by side
with Reina Igawa and Yusuke Inoue. In the musical section, Takatsugu
Wakabayashi will return to compose the soundtrack, this time adding the talent
of the renowned composer MICHIRU to accompany the school trip of the
protagonists.
An
acclaimed work in manga and on stage
The first
season debuted in April 2023, instantly becoming a critical phenomenon thanks
to the naturalness of its characters and the beauty of their interactions.
The original manga, created by Misaki Takamatsu, has
been published in the pages of Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine since
August 2018, garnering enormous recognition in the industry after appearing at
the top of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! list and being nominated
in prestigious competitions such as the Manga Taisho and the Kodansha Manga
Awards. The franchise's drag has been such that it even had a theatrical
musical adaptation presented in Tokyo and Osaka.
