The
adventures of the anime's coolest talking gun and his adorable yet lethal
feline companion are about to resume. The animated adaptation of
the light novels Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita (Reincarnated
as a Sword) revealed a new promotional trailer, a key visual image and
confirmed that its second season will debut on Japanese television on October
7, also having a special preview on digital platforms on September 30.
For this
long-awaited sequel, the C2C studio takes the reins of the
project again under the direction of Shinji Ishihira, backed by Takahiro Nagano
in the supervision of the scripts and Atsuko Saito in the character design. The
soundtrack will once again feature Yasuharu Takanashi's compositions, keeping
intact the formula that made the first season of 2022 a true gem of
the isekai genre. The newly released trailer also offers a glimpse into the
theme music: the opening theme titled "Dream of Butterfly" is
performed by the band FZMZ, while the closing theme
"Baribari Buddy" will be performed by renowned metal group Hanabie. In
addition, the franchise will expand with a new spin-off manga
titled Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita My Dish, illustrated by Itsuki
Fujioka, which will begin its online publication on September 30.
