Rio's
adventures in this complex world full of magic and memories of the past are far
from over. During a special broadcast organized by the book's publishing house,
the Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles franchise officially announced
the production of its third season, ensuring the continuity of one of
the most beloved reincarnation stories by fans of the genre.
The
announcement was made through a commemorative video and promotional image that
ignited conversation among fans. Although the exact release date and details of
the production team that will lead this new project have not been revealed at
the moment, the confirmation guarantees that the animated adaptation will
continue to cover the most intense stages of light novels.
The author
of the original work, Yuri Kitayama, shared a special message to celebrate the
news, thanking the audience's continued support both in Japan and abroad.
Kitayama recalled that while the first season focused on Rio's promise of
revenge and the second season put him face to face with the person he was
looking for, this third installment will bring much more complex dynamics. Now
with her mentor Celia and childhood friend Miharu by her side, the story will
delve into the contrast between the happiness of her current life and the
memories of a past she can no longer recover.
This news
comes after the journey started with the first season in July 2021 and the
broadcast of the second season in October 2024. Throughout its broadcasts, the
production was directed by Hiroshi Kubo and supervised by Osamu Yamasaki,
maintaining a character design by Kyoko Yufu and music by Yasuyuki Yamazaki, elements
that are expected to maintain the same quality for this long-awaited sequel.
Seirei
Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is a series of fantasy light novels written by Yuri Kitayama and
illustrated by Riv. The story began its digital publication on the
Shosetsuka ni Naro website in February 2014, and was later published in print
format by Hobby Japan under the HJ Bunko label from 2015, also featuring a
popular manga adaptation drawn by Futago Minaduki.
The plot
follows Rio, a ruthless orphaned boy who survives in the slums of a fantastical
kingdom. At the age of seven, the little boy discovers that he is the
reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student who tragically
died after losing his childhood sweetheart. Upon regaining his memories, Rio
also awakens an immense magical power that he uses to rescue the kidnapped
princess of the kingdom, receiving as a reward a scholarship to enter the
prestigious academy of nobility, where he must deal with social discrimination
and political intrigues.
