The love
for anime can lead fans to commit unusual crazy things, but when it comes to a
minor in a foreign country, the anguish is total. A 12-year-old British girl
sparked an intense police mobilization in Japan after
disappearing for nearly three days from her family's accommodation in Tokyo.

Carmelita
Lakdesha Paul had arrived in Japan at the end of July with her parents and
brother to enjoy a family vacation. However, on the morning of August 13, her
family woke up in their rented apartment in Tokyo's Ota district, only to find
that the little girl was gone. Without her passport and with just a few
thousand yen in her bag, the young woman boarded a train using an IC transport
card from Keikyu Kamata Station to the city of Yokohama, a
destination that a day earlier she had begged her parents to visit because it
was the main setting of the franchise.
For almost
59 hours, the minor toured on her own various emblematic points of the city
associated with the work and spent the night in a traditional Japanese
cybercafé. Police in Kanagawa prefecture deployed a massive search using
security cameras to track her steps until, on the night of August 15, Carmelita
herself walked on her own to a police post (koban) in Yokohama after
admitting that she was beginning to miss her parents. The authorities confirmed
that the girl was completely unharmed, ruled out the commission of any crime
and immediately reunited her with her family before her return trip.
This
unusual adventure of Seichi Jungei ended with a happy ending
that relieved the global community, but showed the fascination that
real scenarios of Japanese animation arouse. Seeing how far this young fan was
able to go to know the places of her favorite series.
