The Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! magical boy franchise returns with a new animated installment titled Cute High Earth Defense Club HIGH COLLAR!. A few days before its premiere in Japan, two new promotional visuals have been released that show both the heroes and villains of this unusual and funny story.

In the first visual we see the protagonists of the Earth Defense Club in their magical combat forms, accompanied by their new talking feline pet. In contrast, the second visual shows the antagonists dressed as school delinquents, posing dramatically next to a talking groundhog, which clearly promises to be a peculiar presence in this new season.

Production by veterans of the genre

The new series is directed by Shinji Takamatsu at Studio Deen, known for his background in absurd comedies. Takashi Oshima is in charge of the composition of the series, Ayaka Murakami takes on the role of character designer and main animation director, and the soundtrack is in charge of yamazo, with music production by Pony Canyon.

What is this eccentric saga about?

The original story, aired in previous seasons and available on Crunchyroll, follows Binan High School's "Earth Defense Club," also known as the "Do Nothing Club." Their life takes a surreal turn when, while relaxing in a hot spring, a mysterious talking pink wombat appears out of nowhere asking for their help to protect the Earth. Thereafter, each member receives a magical bracelet that transforms them into magical boys.

Release date and where to watch it

Cute High Earth Defense Club HIGH COLLAR! will premiere in Japan on July 7 at 4:00 p.m. (Spanish time). Although its international broadcast is not yet confirmed, it is likely that Crunchyroll will announce its simulcast in the coming weeks, as it happened with previous installments.

With eccentric humor, brilliant transformations, and talking animals, this new series promises to maintain the irreverent spirit that made the franchise a cult classic among anime fans.
