Girls und Panzer das Finale's third film still in production

Director Tsutomu Mizushima revealed through his Twitter account that the production of the third film in the Girls und Panzer das Finale hexalogy is still in production despite the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan.
The production team mentioned that editing of the feature film has started and they are slowly preparing to start the voice recordings.

The same director also confirmed that the voice recordings for the compilation film Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai Kanzenban have already been completed. This film will replay the story of Michiko Yokote and Mizushima's original anime Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai, adding a few additional scenes. The premiere is scheduled for this year's fall season.


About Girls und Panzer

The anime franchise was created by the Actas studios and focuses on a high school competition involving the use of military artillery as a sport. The original series was directed by Tsutomu Mizushima, written by Reiko Yoshida and produced by Kiyoshi Sugiyama. The project also had the participation of Takaaki Suzuki, who had previously participated as a military adviser in the Strike Witches and Upotte series !!.

Although the series began with a twelve episode animated series aired between October and December 2012, plus two additional episodes released in March 2013; it has actually also inspired an OVA, nine manga adaptations, and a light novel published by Media Factory. The franchise featured an animation film released in November 2015, and the current Girls und Panzer das Finale project, which will consist of six films, with the first released in 2017.
