Faced with health instructions to stay in their homes to prevent further spread of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Japan, some personalities in the manga and anime industry have been testing social media.

Jin Kobayashi, the author and illustrator of the School Rumble manga joined this trend by opening his official Twitter account and gaining more than 10,000 followers in less than 24 hours.

As expected, his first publication was a sketch of the character Kenji Harima, from the aforementioned series.

Subsequently, he published a sketch of the perosnjae Eri Sawachika, from the same series.
About School Rumble

Jin Kobayashi began publishing this manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine from October 2002 to July 2008, publishing a total of 345 chapters. The publisher compiled the work in a total of 22 volumes.

Its wide popularity favored the work to be adapted to multiple media, such as a 26-episode anime aired between October 2004 and April 2006, and produced by Studio Comet. After the publication of two OVAs, the series had a second and third seasons aired between April and September 2008, and July and September 2008, respectively.

The manga had an outstanding acceptance in Japan, with several volumes dominating the sales rankings at the time. Critics praised his artistic style and clever use of humor. However, he was also criticized for excessive joking and repetitive plotting.

Finally, in 2009 Kobayashi commented: “School Rumble was an important part of my life, and I wish I could have drawn more on that story, but I had other issues to attend to so I had to finish it. At some point, I would like to draw their adult lives for a seinen magazine. ”
