The cancellation was decided because of the COVID-19 pandemic that is going through Japan and the state of emergency that was active at the time. In fact, although the events were scheduled for May 9 and 10, the staff assured at the time that they would be postponed, and not canceled. However, due to the difficulty of re-organizing the agenda, they opted for the latter.
The concerts were scheduled to take place on May 9 and 10, and the staff apologized for any problems this may have caused, especially those anxiously awaiting this performance.
About Love Live! Sunshine !!
It is a multimedia project produced by Dengeki G’s Magazine in Kadokawa, the Lantis music label and the Sunrise animation studio. The project is a spin-off and sequel to the original Love Live! and focuses on a new musical group of students made up of the following voice actresses:
- Anju Inami as Chika Takami.
- Shuka Saitou as You Watanabe.
- Rikako Aida as Riko Sakurauchi.
- Nanaka Suwa as Kanan Matsuura.
- Aina Suzuki as Mari Ohara.
- Arisa Komiya as Dia Kurosawa.
- Kanako Takatsuki as Hanamaru Kunikida.
- Ai Furihata as Ruby Kurosawa.
- Aika Kobayashi as Yoshiko Tsushima.
The project debuted in April 2015 with a music CD, followed by a manga adaptation in April 2015. However, the project skyrocketed in popularity with the release of the 26-episode anime adaptation produced by Sunrise Studios under the directed by Kazuo Sakai, and released in July 2016.
