Several years after its official announcement, Lionsgate appears to have resumed production of the live-action film based on the Naruto manga and revealed that they are looking for actors for it.

The leaked information specifies that the production is looking for actors for the roles of the masters and villains. Currently, the live-action film is being produced by Arad Productions in collaboration with PICTURESTART. Although there is no word yet on when the recording will begin or where it will take place, a production budget has not even been established.

However, from the cast and staff it has been confirmed that the writer will be Jonathan Levine (50/50, Warm Bodies). Writers Erica and Jon Hoeber (The Meg), Ari Arad (Iron Man, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2) will be in charge of production with studio executives Brady Fujikawa and James Myers, under the direction of Michael Gracey. .

The director previously commented that he has no intention of affecting an incredible franchise like Naruto by changing the story, that is why the script writing will not be approved by him until he feels that he has respected the original material as much as possible. .

The description of the film is also quite simple, as it only expresses that the story will accompany Naruto Uzumaki on his way to becoming the strongest ninja.

The information about the cast members who are vacant, according to the leak, are:

  • Three main roles, two men and two women, Asians between 14 and 18 years old.
  • Two instructors, Asian supporting actors.
  • An Asian villain, supporting actor.
