This broadcast will feature Kana Hanazawa and Tomoaki Maeno, who play the characters Erythrocyte and Leukocyte in the anime adaptation, as hosts.
For her part, Shimizu has published the manga in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine since March 2015, and has inspired a considerable number of spin-off series based on other types of cells.
Additionally, the work inspired an anime adaptation of twelve episodes broadcast between July and September 2018, and produced by David Production studios under the direction of Kenichi Suzuki and scripts written by Yuuko Kakihara. A second season is confirmed for the month of January 2021, as well as an anime adaptation of the spin-off manga Hataraku Saibou Black for the same month.
