The manga series written and illustrated by Yousuke Kaneda, Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet, is reported to have surpassed 3.7 million copies in circulation. This was confirmed by the author himself through his Twitter account.
Kaneda began publishing the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2015, and later moved the publication to the same publisher's Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2017. The manga inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by LIDEN FILMS studios under the direction of Seiki Takuno and scripts written by Takao Yoshioka, and released in October 2018.
Synopsis of Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet
The story follows two students from two different nations attending Dahlia Academy, as a forbidden love blossoms between them. Romio Inuzuka lives in the dormitory of the Tōwa Nation; while in the bedroom of the Principality of the West lives his lover and eternal enemy, Juliet Percia.
