Makoto Shinkai's animated feature film Tenki no Ko (also known as Weathering With You) is reported to have performed excellently in stores, with 175,954 units sold since its release in Japan on May 27, which they distribute as follows:
Blu-ray, regular edition: 75,095 copies.
Blu-ray collector's special edition: 47,166 copies.
DVD, regular edition: 53,693 copies.
The film was released in theaters in Japan on July 19, 2019, in 359 theaters and 448 screens. The feature-length film sold 1,159,020 tickets, raising 1,643,809,400 yen (about $ 15.22 million) in its first three days, and ranked first on its opening weekend.
